Send The Email

This is your reminder: if you're not sending emails right now, it's time to think again.

A few weeks ago I bought a low-ticket offer from someone who is doing really well for herself, the kind of results and following most of us would take. A friend suggested I follow her. At the time, I didn't even know her name. Now I can rattle off her first and last name, plus exactly what she does.

Since I bought, my inbox has had an email from her almost every single day: 51 emails in just over three weeks. Some days more than one.

Do I agree with her process? Not entirely. Does it line up with my values? Not entirely. Would I run my business the way she runs hers? Probably not. But that's beside the point. I know her name, and I know exactly what she offers. That's what daily emails bought her, whether I ever buy from her again or not.

Could that frequency turn some people off and get her an unsubscribe? Sure. But for every person who leaves, there's someone else who's now first in line when she opens the doors to something bigger, because she never let herself go quiet.

I see the same thing play out with my own clients.

  • One runs a monthly paid masterclass. Every time we send an email about it, every time, someone signs up.

  • Another is running an annual multi-day event. We're sending reminders right up close to the date, and every single reminder gets someone going "oh, I meant to book that" and taking action. Two more people signed up just yesterday. And even the people who don't book this time round aren't wasted opens. The event is on their radar now, so next year, when it comes around again, they already know it exists and what it's about.

  • A third client has her quarterly in-person training coming up. We're four weeks out and started sending weekly reminders. More people have signed up for the next round, and others have secured their spot for next year.

If we send an email once and then go quiet, and then wonder why the sales aren't coming, there's a reason. People are not mind readers.

People aren't as invested in our business as we are. We've lived with our offer for months. We know every word on the sales page. Then we mention it once, in one email, and expect everyone to have caught it, understood it, and remembered it.

They didn't. They were mid-scroll. The kids were yelling. Their brain was somewhere else entirely. They filed it away to come back to later, and then can't find it.

Email still matters more than we give it credit for: social media reach sits around 2%. Two percent of your audience sees any given post. Email open rates average 20 to 30%. If you want to get in front of the person who's ready to buy, who actually signed up to hear from you, email is still doing the heavy lifting.

And no, you don't need to send two emails a day, every day. That's not the lesson here.

So this is your reminder. Not to copy anyone's twice-a-day tactics if that's not you. But to stop treating "I already sent one email about it" as a finished job.

Write it again. Write it differently. Speak to the pain point, paint the transformation, give the details plainly, speak to the objection. And send it.
